So what is Lumi? Lumi is a brand new textile printing process that allows the artist to create photo-realistic imagery on all natural materials, something that wasn’t really possible before. The whole process is environmentally safe and the end product is completely washable and fade resistant. The Lumi process has undergone 5 years of research, development and experiment while fashion designer, Jesse Genet printed on t-shirts for her fashion company. Over the years, Jesse has developed a partnership with Stephan Angoulvant and created Lumi Co.

We plan to use the process to create an incredible product line featuring previously impossible prints! We are also eager to collaborate with great photographers and fashion brands. – Jesse Genet & Stephan Angoulvant

Through kickstarter.com you can pledge money towards this printing process where you are ultimately investing in a revolutionary new print technology and the two determined design students dreams. The pledge directly supports the scientific development of the process, production equipment, and any other cost associated with bringing Lumi to the marketplace. $12,000 dollars is what was calculated by kickstarter.com as the minimum amount of capital needed to allow us to continue R&D, upgrade equipment and open our doors in the first quarter of 2010.
