British artist Alan Jaras takes light painting in a slightly different direction and creates magnificent works of art in the process. Most of the works are analog images of the refraction patterns from light passing through a transparent objects such as textured glass. The resulting image is then captured directly on to 35mm film. No camera is used in the process (a photogram using film instead of photographic paper), as the transparent object replaces the lens. Color is introduced by placing specially prepared colored filters directly in the beam of light.

“These images have not been computer generated or color treated. The colors you see are a faithful reproduction of those captured on film.”
