Project 77

I was pretty much blown away by Wim Tellier’s photo installation known as “Project 7-7″. Not only is the project unique and inspiring the presentation ( website ), utilizes a unique flash gallery that enhances the user experience. Once you enter the site, you are introduced with a full screen video of a child interacting with his drawings as they float around the screen. You then are guided to enter the sites “store” to buy pieces of the installation. Here is the story. Explore the whole installation here–>

7 continents. 6 elderly. 4 200 children. 1 home. 1 legacy. Infinite paths to the future… Protect 7-7 is the powerful new creation of renowned Belgian artist and photographer, Wim Tellier.

Six blow ups form the backdrop for six reclining elderly figures, 3 men, 3 women, aged 77, naked but for feather and down covering their genitalia. Each of these figures is “carried” by the photos of 700 colourful drawings, each depictions of the future through the eyes and by the hands of a 7 year old.

Each blow up therefore represents a collage of the inheritance, dreams and aspirations of a single continent:
1. Africa (South Africa, Namibia)
2. North America (Mexico)
3. South America (Bolivia)
4. Asia (Japan)
5. Europe (Belgium)
6. Oceania (New Zealand, Papua New Guinea)
